LR (Light Rigid)

A Light Rigid vehicle is any rigid vehicle over 4.5 tonnes GVM up to 8 tonnes GVM, with 2 axles. Any towed traileedge test.

To upgrade to this licence you must:

  • Pass the Roads & Maritime Services Truck Driver Knowledge Test for Class HR at any registry
  • Pass an eyesight test
  • Buy the logbook pack from the R&MS ($23)
  • Book a course with a R&MS accredited assessor
  • Upgrade your licence after successful completion of the course at a R&MS registry ($23)
  • Duration of the course is 10 - 14 hours, spread over 2 consecutive days where possible.

Cost is $125 per hour (no weekend surcharge).

As we have to give the Roads & Maritime Services 48 hours notice of a learners Final Competency assessment we require 72 hours notice of cancellation.
